Passport for Good, a software solution that captures community engagement for students, schools and community organizations, is joining the Hudson Valley Community College START-UP NY program. The company is moving into designated tax-free space within the Quackenbush Building on Broadway in Troy and plans to invest more than $50,000 into the downtown Troy economy and create new technology jobs locally.

Three years ago, the Harvard Graduate School of Education released Turning the Tide of College Admissions, a report outlining recommendations for counting kindness in the college admissions process. It addressed the academic pressure on students and the need to show students they are more than a test score.

Troy, N.Y. — The schools of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District are now able to provide Passport for Good, a software solution that captures community engagement for students, schools and community organizations, as a resource for their students, enabling them to create customized portfolios of their engagement in school clubs and events and the service they provide as volunteers in their community.
