The Watervliet City School District will begin to provide Passport for Good as a resource for students to create customized portfolios of their engagement in school clubs and events and the service they provide to their community as volunteers. Watervliet students will be able to collect and showcase all of the positive good they bring to their school, community and themselves. Students also will use Passport for Good to demonstrate their skills and strengths as they prepare for college and/or a career.
The Watervliet district enrolls approximately 1,300 students in grades Prekindergarten-12.
“Our district is committed to the success of all students, and it is important for the district to provide many avenues and opportunities to learn, achieve and celebrate academic, personal and employment success,” said Dr. Lori Caplan, superintendent of the Watervliet City School District.
Director of Curriculum and Instruction Donald Stevens said one of the district’s primary goals is for all students to leave WCSD prepared for college, career and citizenship. “Passport for Good will assist us in meeting that goal and help us to groom strong citizens, well-positioned to succeed as productive young adults,” he said.

About the Watervliet School District
The Watervliet City School District serves approximately 1,300 children in a small urban community along the Hudson River, approximately five miles north of Albany, the state’s capital. Watervliet City schools consist of two buildings – an elementary school that serves approximately 650 children in prekindergarten through grade 6, and a junior-senior high school that enrolls approximately 590 students in grades 7-12.
